SENATOBIA – For the second time this season, Northwest freshman
Liv Nault has been awarded MACJC Goalkeeper of the Week honors for the week of Oct. 8-14.
Logging just under 180 minutes of playing time, Nault was tested against 25 shots on goal in a pair of division matches against East Central and Itawamba.
She collected 12 saves and surrendered just one goal, an overtime game-winner in a 1-0 loss to ECCC, and followed that up with a 12-save performance against Itawamba, before exiting the match in the 78th minute of the second half due to injury. The Lady Rangers went on to win that match 2-0.
Nault sits among the nation's top 20 in saves with 97 (18th) and is ninth in overall save percentage at .898.
A Southaven native, Nault spent time between the posts and in the midfield at DeSoto Central High School, scoring six goals. She also played golf and volleyball, winning numerous all-division and all-star honors in the latter.
Northwest (8-5, 3-4 north) will travel to Hinds this afternoon for the MACJC North Division finale. A win would secure the Lady Rangers' first postseason berth since the 2014 season.
