Box Score WESSON – Seven different players scored for Northwest on Friday afternoon in an 8-0 rout of Copiah-Lincoln.
Freshman
Michael Ledbetter scored the first of four first-half goals in the 10th minute on the first of four
Peyton McKnatt assists on the day.
Minutes later McKnatt found the back of the net to make it 2-0 and
Cameron Casey and
Christian Clements followed with goals for a 4-0 halftime lead.
The onslaught continued in the second half with goals by Clements (50th minute),
Jonathan Felix (63rd),
David Raymundo (68th) and
Will Jones (75th). The goals for Clements (2) and Jones marked the first of their collegiate careers.
Co-Lin (0-2) never really threatened, with the Rangers outshooting the Wolfpack 29-7.
Freshman
Brandon Carrillo picked up three saves in 84:31 of work in net, while
Cooper Weseli closed out the final 5:29.
Since losing twice to Co-Lin in 2014, Northwest has won the last three meetings by a combined score of 24-2.
The Rangers will close out the weekend road trip with a 3 p.m. kick at Southwest on Saturday.
