Women's Soccer Ranked #19 in Latest Poll

SENATOBIA – Off to a school-record 7-0-2 start, the Northwest women's soccer team is ranked No. 19 in the latest NJCAA Division I Poll. It's the first-ever national ranking in the program's 13-year history.

Northwest has plowed through the competition the first month of the season and has outscored its opponents 29-2 with seven shutouts.

"It's a tremendous honor to be recognized by the NJCAA," second-year head coach Levi Nunnally said. "I'm extremely proud of this team. They have worked hard and put in a total effort every day to be where we are right now. The credit goes to these young women. We still have a long season ahead of us and areas we need to improve on, but I know these ladies are up for the challenge."

Nunnally has made huge strides with the women's program in only his second year, taking the team to the playoffs and posting a winning record for the first time since 2006 a year ago. He's now 15-4-4 overall (.739) in his first 23 matches as a collegiate head coach.

Northwest welcomes 11th-ranked St. Charles (8-1) to Senatobia this Saturday in what will be the first-ever Top 20 showdown on campus. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m.

The Lady Rangers will also entertain Eastern Oklahoma State at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
