COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Freshman Ashley Nelson of Horn Lake continued her stellar play in net for the Northwest Lady Rangers, picking up 21 saves between Sept. 8-14 to earn MACJC and NJCAA Division I Goalkeeper of the Week honors.

Nelson improved to 5-0-2 on the year with six shutouts, already a Northwest single-season record with 10 regular season matches remaining.

Nelson tallied 21 saves in double overtime ties against Hinds (1-1) and East Central (0-0) to push her season total to 34. She had a career-high 15 in the draw against the Lady Bulldogs.

Northwest is off to a school-record start under second-year head coach Levi Nunnally and has not lost a match since October 29, 2013.

The Lady Rangers will host Co-Lin on Tuesday, Sept. 23 in Senatobia at 2 p.m.
