HILLSBORO, Ore. – Rising redshirt sophomore Karsten Miller of Northwest has been named to the JCGridiron.com Preseason JUCO Pro Style Quarterback Watch List.

Miller is one of just a handful of players returning from last year's roster and will have a brand new offensive line, receiving corps, backfield and not to mention, a new offensive coordinator.

The Lexington, N.C., native and UNC Charlotte transfer completed 154-of-263 passes (58.6%) for 1,755 yards, 12 TD and 11 interceptions in his freshman campaign, also adding a pair of rushing touchdowns.

His 1,755 yards ranked fifth in the MACJC, an average of 195 yards-per-game, and he had his best career outing vs Northeast, completing 26-of-39 passes for 348 yards and three touchdowns.

Miller was highly recruited out of North Davidson HS (N.C.), receiving interest from the likes of West Virginia, Tennessee, Virginia and Wake Forest. As a junior, he was ranked the No. 1 quarterback in North Carolina and was named the CPC Offensive Player of the Year before missing his entire senior season with an injury.

Northwest will kickoff the 2014 season on Thursday, Aug. 28 in Senatobia against Jones County.
