Box Score SENATOBIA – Northwest stayed unbeaten in north division play on Tuesday afternoon, playing Itawamba to a scoreless double overtime draw to remain in second place with three division matches remaining.
Northwest moved to 7-2-4 overall and 2-0-3 in the north while ICC moved to 2-8-1 and 0-3-1.
The stat sheet was balanced in every category, with ICC controlling possession in the first half and Northwest being much more aggresive in the second half and holding the Lady Indians without a shot in the overtime periods. The Lady Rangers owned an 11-10 shot advantage but were outshot 7-4 on-goal.
Northwest had two big scoring opportunties in the 65th and 66th minutes, but couldn't connect, with
Jameka Barr's shot sailing a few feet wide right and
Abigail Morales' shot across the left side of her body denied by Emily Munn.
Tristan Kitchens led the Lady Rangers with four shots, two on goal, while Alyssa Kelley and Reagan Hern had three shots apiece for the Lady Indians.
Ashley Nelson picked up seven saves in her ninth clean sheet of the year against four saves for Munn.
Northwest will head to Hinds (5-3-2, 1-1-1) for a big matchup on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 3 p.m.
