Road Setback at MGCCC Ends Rangers' Season

Box Score PERKINSTON – Gulf Coast broke away from a 1-0 halftime lead with four second half goals to run away with a 5-0 victory on Friday night that ended Northwest's season.

MGCCC improved to 12-4-1 while Northwest closed the year at 7-9 overall. It's the Rangers' first back-to-back 7-win seasons since 2008-09 under former head coach Peter Jarjoura. 

Gillian Watson scored the game's opening goal in the 27th minute off an assist from Lewis Tillman.

The Bulldogs added two quick goals in the 46th and 49th minutes by Mitchell Cecatiello to bust open a 3-0 lead.

Josh Delgado exited in the 65th minute down 3-0 with six saves to make way for Matthew Williams who allowed two goals with a save in the final 25 minutes.

Northwest was outshot 11-8 for the match, with Armando Barron and Mamadou Mbaye each getting a couple of chances on goal. 

Watson added a second goal in the 70th minute and Zahir Bracey put the final touches on a 5-0 Bulldog win with a goal in the 82nd minute from Rodman Mena.
