COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – After another stellar week between the posts for Northwest, freshman Ashley Nelson has been named the NJCAA Goalkeeper of the Week for games played Sept. 22-28.

In a 1-1-1 week for the Lady Rangers, Nelson tallied 37 saves on 38 shots-on-goal for a .974 save percentage and also had a pair of shutouts against Co-Lin and Eastern Oklahoma State. The lone goal she allowed came on a penalty kick in a 1-0 loss to 11th-ranked St. Charles.

Nelson improved to 7-1-3 on the year with 83 saves, eight shutouts and a 0.26 goals against average.

Northwest will hit the road on Tuesday, Sept. 30, traveling to unbeaten and 10th-ranked Jones County.
