Zleh Nets Hat-Trick, Five Others Score in 8-1 Win over Co-Lin

SENATOBIA – Freshman Gnande Zleh netted his first career hat-trick and Northwest scored six second half goals to run away with an 8-1 victory over Copiah-Lincoln Tuesday afternoon.

Northwest improved to 4-3-1 overall with the win and swept the season series by a combined 14-1 margin. Copiah-Lincoln fell to 0-9-1 with the loss.

The Rangers led 2-0 at the break behind goals from Zleh and Muhamed Bojang and turned it on late in the second half with six goals in the final 39 minutes.

Co-Lin's lone goal came from Da'Shone Lampley in the 72nd minute when he beat Josh Delgado from a near impossible angle deep in the corner of the box.

Freshmen Christian Zelaya and Peter Geraci scored their first career goals in the 76th and 79th minutes, and Zleh completed his hat-trick in the 80th minute off one of Bojang's two assists on the afternoon. Aaron Terrazas and Bojang each scored their fifth goals of the year and Dylan Castoria added his third.

Northwest owned a 16-7 shot advantage (12-5 SOG) and drew seven corner kicks to the Wolpack's two.

Taylor Thevenot played the opening 45 minutes and grabbed three saves to earn his fourth win of the year while Delgado played the final half and stopped one of two shots.

Northwest will travel to Southwest (1-6-1) on Saturday, Sept. 29 for a 4 p.m. kickoff.
