SENATOBIA – Freshmen Aaron Terrazas and Muhamed Bojang each scored within a 3-minute span in the opening half to give Northwest a goal advantage but visiting East Central rallied with two second half goals to take a 3-2 victory in the Rangers' season finale.
East Central swept the season series (both one-goal wins) in improving to 10-5-3 overall and 5-2-1 in the north while Northwest closed its season 5-7-1 overall and 1-6-1 in the division.
Drew Norman broke the scoreless tie in the 30th minute when he took a free kick outside the box and bent it in past the diving effort of Taylor Thevenot.
The goal set off a scoring frenzy, with Northwest getting on the board minutes later and then taking a brief 2-1 lead when Bojang one-touched a Dylan Castoria effort. The three goals came in a span of 5:12.
The lead was short-lived as the Warriors tied the game just 2:18 into the second half when Taylor Potter beat Josh Delgado in net.
East Central would then find the game-winner in the 73rd minute from Clint McGraw to cap the comeback win and lift the Warriors into the state playoffs.
Northwest outshot East Central 14-9 on the day (8-7 SOG) and the teams combined for 20 fouls.
Jared Canoy had six saves in net and Thevenot and Delgado combined for four for the Rangers.
