Northwest Welcomes Caleb Burggraaf as Director of Sports Information

SENATOBIA - Northwest Mississippi Community College has selected Caleb Burggraaf as its new Director of Sports Information, the institution announced Tuesday morning.

Andrew Dale, the college's Associate Vice President of Community Relations, stated "We are excited to welcome Caleb Burggraaf to our Northwest family as Sports Information Director.  Caleb brings a wealth of experience in broadcasting, journalism, and athletic communications that will help us elevate the visibility of our student-athletes and programs.  His passion for storytelling and his proven ability to connect with fans and communities will make him an invaluable asset to our team and to Northwest."

For the past 15 years, Burggraaf has been building on a career in broadcast and print media before making the transition to collegiate sports information in 2022 when he joined Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, Wyoming, as the Sports Information Manager for the Golden Eagles.

While at LCCC, Burggraaf covered all eight of the school's athletic programs including volleyball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's rodeo, and esports.

Prior to that his path has taken him through seven different states, covering athletics from the high school to NCAA Division I and II programs, as well as club and professional athletics.

A graduate of Colorado Mesa University (then Mesa State College) in 2011, Burggraaf graduated with a bachelor's degree in mass communication with a focus in sports broadcasting. While his passion has been radio, his experience has allowed him to venture into print media and TV broadcasting, including being the lead voice for the NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championships on ESPN+ in 2024 and 2025 as well as a member of the broadcast teams for the NJCAA Division I World Series from 2019 to 2024 and the NAIA World Series in 2025.

His ties to junior college athletics began after being the voice of the Western Nebraska Community College Cougars in the 2011-12 season. Prior to that, Caleb worked with the Iowa Cubs in their front office directly after graduating from CMU.

Caleb brings a passion for telling the stories behind the athletes and is excited to continue this as he joins the Northwest Mississippi Community College staff as the Director of Sports Information.

"I'm excited to begin working for Northwest!  After seeing the facilities and the care they put into the student-athletes, I cannot wait to help continue telling the stories of our Rangers.  My goal is to continue to bring the work and successes of the athletes and teams the attention it deserves.  Northwest has done a great job of this, and I look forward to upholding that standard," said Burggraaf.
