SENATOBIA - As the dust has settled from another thrilling Ranger Rodeo weekend, the final results are in for the season finale of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association's Ozark Region schedule.
As a team, the Northwest men placed third with 405 points, finishing just behind second-place finishers UT-Martin (480 points) and weekend winners Missouri Valley College (730 points). The Lady Rangers finished ninth with 60 total points.
Christian Cagle had another strong showing for the weekend, finishing third in the men's all-around with 120 total points. The Canton, Ga. native placed third in steer wrestling with an average time of 10.9 seconds and earned sixth in saddle bronc riding, tallying 115 points.
Cagle was also one of four Rangers to earn second through fifth in steer wrestling, as his teammate
Wyatt Newman earned second place with a 9.2-second average.
Will Collier placed fourth and was followed in fifth by
Hank Burgess.
Dakota Smith placed third for the Rangers in bull riding, finishing with a score of 76. Additionally,
Tate Williams logged a sixth-place finish in tie-down roping.
Darby Toole was the lone Lady Ranger to place, recording a sixth-place finish in barrel racing.
Finalists for the College National Finals Rodeo will be named later this week. Northwest head coach
Will Lummus is looking to send participants to the CNFR for the third straight season.
