MARTIN, Tenn. - Northwest sophomore
Darby Toole provided the biggest highlight of the weekend for the Lady Rangers at the UT-Martin College Rodeo.
Toole, a native of Eudora, compiled 50 total points and was the only participant to place in the women's all-around standings. She placed sixth in barrel racing, receiving 40 points, and seventh in breakaway roping with 10 additional points.
Additionally,
Wyatt Newman won steer wrestling with 160 total points. He finished with a 4.6 time in the opening round and a 4.2 time in the short-go, for an average score of 8.8.
For the weekend, the Rangers finished ninth with 65 total points, while the Lady Rangers earned seventh place with 70 team points.
Entering the final weekend of the regular season, the Northwest men's team is currently fourth with 2,925.50 points, trailing region leader Missouri Valley College (5,675.50), second-place West Alabama (4,406.00) and third-place Southern Arkansas (3,591.00).
As for the women's standings, the Lady Rangers are seventh with 1,017.00 points.Â
Northwest will host the annual Ranger Rodeo this weekend to wrap up the regular season. The three-day event is scheduled for Thursday, April 24 through Saturday, April 26 at the Lawrence "Bud" Young Arena in Senatobia.Â
