SEARCY, Ark. - Northwest started off the spring portion of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association's Ozark Region schedule with a pair of strong team finishes at the ATU Collegiate Rodeo, hosted by Arkansas Tech University.

Kent Jordan and
Christian Cagle's top two results in the steer wrestling event, the Ranger men's team placed third overall on the weekend, while the Lady Rangers placed fourth with solid finishes in barrel racing, goat tying and breakway roping.
Jordan and Cagle each finished first and second, respectively, in steer wrestling, while
Hank Burgess also captured a fifth-place finish. Cagle also had a top five result in saddle bronc riding, earning a third-place finish.
Delaney Naifeh finished fifth in barrel racing and sixth in goat tying, while
Emily Fugate earned a sixth-place result in breakaway roping.
Northwest will have a quick turnaround, resuming competition this weekend in the EMCC Rodeo in Meridian. Action begins Thursday, March 13 at 7 P.M. and runs through Saturday, March 15.
