JACKSON - For the second time this season, Northwest freshman forward Alorian Story has been chosen for MACCC Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors, the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference announced on Tuesday.

Story averaged a double-double in last week's split for the Lady Rangers, which included a loss to East Central and a win at Hinds. The Ripley, Miss. native averaged 19.5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game, while also finishing with six blocks in the loss to ECCC.

For the season, Story has 15 games with 10 or more points and nine games with a double-double.

This is the second MACCC Player of the Week honor for Story, after earning the same award during the opening week of the season. At that time, she was the first Lady Ranger to earn weekly conference honors since February 15, 2022, when Tierra Trotter scored a combined 40 points in a pair of wins against Mississippi Gulf Coast and Meridian.

Northwest (9-12, 5-6 MACCC) will resume competition on Thursday, February 20 at Meridian. The Lady Rangers will then return to Howard Coliseum on Monday, Feb. 24 for Sophomore Day and the regular season home finale against Mississippi Gulf Coast.
