Kindyl Scruggs Wins IPRA World Title

Northwest rodeo alum continues pro barrel racing career

GUTHRIE, Okla. - Former Northwest barrel racer Kindyl Scruggs continued her success at the professional rodeo level last weekend, winning her second International Professional Rodeo Association title at the 55th International Finals Rodeo.

Based on season and final earnings, Scruggs claimed the IPRA championship in barrel racing, after leading the world standings throughout 2024 and rode her horse, Melrose Chrome, to a top finish in the IFR finals.

A native of Southaven, Scruggs captured her first IPRA World Championship since 2016. Earlier last spring, she also claimed the 2024 Women's Rodeo World Championship in Arlington, Texas.

Scruggs competed on the Northwest rodeo program from 2012-15 and was inducted in 2020 to the Northwest Sports Hall of Fame.
