Zaria Glover Signs with Jackson State

Fourth Lady Ranger to sign from 2023-24 squad

JACKSON - Northwest guard Zaria Glover has become the latest member of the Lady Rangers' 2023-24 squad to move on to the next level, signing with Jackson State University earlier this week.

A native of Las Vegas, Glover is the first Division I signee for the Lady Rangers in coach LaTaryl Williams' tenure and the first since Tierra Trotter inked with Texas-Rio Grande Valley in the spring of 2022.

"Zaria was one of our first signees," Williams said. "Like most freshmen, she had her ups and downs adjusting to college basketball, but she continued to put in the work to get better. We saw major improvements in her game during her sophomore year, as she became one of our more consistent performers and helped us reach the postseason."

In her two seasons at Northwest, Glover averaged 7.2 points per game in 46 contests, along with an average of 3.0 rebounds per game. The Durango High School product posted 14 career double-figure scoring games, with 10 of those coming this past season.

Glover's career-high of 19 points came during her freshman season in a 68-66 victory against Arkansas State Mid-South. In the 2023-24 season-opener against Freed-Hardeman JV, she fell just shy of a double-double, posting 13 points and nine rebounds.

"Her best basketball is ahead of her," Williams added, on Glover. "I think she will have an immediate impact on and off the court for Jackson State. I am super proud of her, because she came to Northwest and accomplished her goals. The sky is the limit for Zaria."

Glover joins teammates McKenzie Amos, Angela Middleton and Kae'la Mitchell in signing to the four-year level, as all three signed with Lane College in early May. Additionally, forward Marian Jenkins is currently committed to Mississippi College and her future signing will bring the season total to five signees, the most in a single season for Northwest since 1996-97.

Northwest finished the 2023-24 campaign with a 15-11 overall record, earning the program's first postseason appearance in two years. Meanwhile, Jackson State made waves this past season, finishing 26-7 overall and 18-0 in the SWAC, earning a bid to the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament.
