JACKSON - Northwest freshman guard Mariah Reed-Jones was chosen for Honorable Mention All-MACCC accolades, the conference announced this week.

Reed-Jones, a native of Oxford, was instrumental in the Lady Rangers' success this season, averaging 11.3 points per game in 26 games. Of those 26 games, Reed-Jones started in all but one, averaging 4.5 rebounds and earning 57 assists.

Reed-Jones had three games with 20-plus points, including a season-high 25 points in a close 64-61 loss to Coahoma on February 15. She also notched a season-high nine rebounds in two games, the season-opener against Freed-Hardeman JV and the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament loss to Meridian.

Reed-Jones is the first all-conference player for second year head coach LaTaryl Williams. She is also the first All-MACCC selection for Northwest since the duo of Tierra Trotter and Kolten Blakeney, who were named First Team and Second Team honorees for the 2021-22 season.

Northwest finished the 2023-24 season with a 15-11 overall record and a 7-7 MACCC record. The Lady Rangers' overall win total matches the program's 15-win campaign during the 2021-22 season.
