SENATOBIA - Despite forcing a 2-2 deadlock at halftime, Northwest had no answer for a pair of Hinds goals in the second half, as the Rangers dropped a 4-2 loss to the 14th-ranked Eagles on Friday evening.
Freshman
Tyler Starnes accounted for both of the Northwest goals, scoring one in the seventh minute and the other in the 25th minute. Cody Barnett recorded a hat trick for Hinds in the match, scoring the first goal of the match in the seventh minute, before adding scores in the ninth and 61st minutes.
Ryan McQueen put up the go-ahead goal for the Eagles in the 53rd minute, with an assist off a corner kick.
Northwest finished with 11 shots, including six on-goal, while Hinds 23 shots and 12 on-goal.Â
Jacob Little accounted for eight saves in a full 90-minute slate for the Rangers, while Elliot Duffy finished with four for the Eagles.
Both teams combined for 32 fouls, with 17 whistled against Hinds. Both teams were slapped with five cautions each, with one apiece against

Michael Sanders,
Cody Smothers,
Rodrigo Bandeira and
Soren Voges-Haupt for Northwest. Ridchy Honore, Frederik Levinson, Keller Reed, Kendarius Smith and Jeison Ramos were each hit with a yellow card for the Eagles.
With the loss, Northwest fell to 1-8-3 on the season and 0-5 in the MACCC, while Hinds moved to 9-0-1 overall and 3-0-1 in conference play.Â
Next up for the Rangers is a home matchup with Itawamba on Tuesday, October 8 at 7 P.M. The Indians (5-3-2, 3-0-2 MACCC) are coming off a 1-0 upset against fifth-ranked Mississippi Gulf Coast.
