SCOOBA - Behind a pair of first half goals and three more in the second half, Northwest garnered its second conference victory in a row on Tuesday evening, defeating East Mississippi by a 5-1 final.

Northwest scored in the seventh minute of the match and provided another goal in the 36th minute, taking a 2-0 lead into halftime. The Rangers scored again in the 58th minute, before allowing an East Mississippi goal in the 63rd minute.

Leading 3-1, Northwest tacked on two more scores in the 80th and 89th minutes to close out the victory. The Rangers also seemingly scored in the 83rd minute, but a late offsides call negated the goal.

With the win, Northwest improved to 3-8-4 overall and 2-5-1 in the MACCC. The victory also resulted in coach Michael Sullivan's ninth career win, tying him with former coach Mark Hogan. 

Sullivan will aim to surpass Hogan and become the Rangers' third all-time winningest coach on Friday, October 18 at Blue Mountain Christian JV. The two teams played in September to a 1-1 draw.
