DYERSBURG, Tenn. - Playing without leading defender
Mikayla Abram, Northwest still had three players reach double figures in a 62-47 road loss to Dyersburg State on Saturday afternoon.
Jacia Hayes led the way with 10 points and 13 rebounds for the Lady Rangers, her first double-double of the season.
McKenzie Amos also added 10 points and 10 rebounds, while
Angela Middleton contributed 10 points in the losing effort.
Dyersburg State came out hot from beyond the arc, setting up a good run in the first quarter. Trailing 13-7, the Lady Rangers managed to close the gap to 28-25 at halftime, only for the Lady Eagles to outscore Northwest 17-8 over the span of the third quarter, building a permanent and comfortable lead.
Maddison Wright led Dyersburg State with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Ava Craddock added 12 points off the bench. Sydney Neale also provided 11 points for the Lady Eagles.
Northwest (8-2) will return to Howard Coliseum on Thursday, January 11 for a non-conference contest against Copiah-Lincoln. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 P.M.
