MONTICELLO, Ark. - When you get bucked off, you get back on. Northwest sophomore bull rider
Colby Burgess did just that in last weekend's Boll Weevil Stampede at Arkansas-Monticello.
Burgess was bucked off his first bull, but finished with 68 points in his second ride, garnering 40 team points for the Northwest men's team. The Rangers placed ninth as a team, but the second ride helped keep Burgess tied with Cole Skender (UAM) for the Ozark Region lead in bull riding. Both competitors have 330 points, while
Luke Stanley now sits in fourth.
Though the Northwest women did not place over the weekend,
Kylie Key did made the short-go in barrel racing.Â
With only two regular season events left, Northwest will now turn its attention to the UT Martin Rodeo, scheduled for April 13-15. The Ozark Region schedule will conclude later this month with the Ranger Rodeo, beginning on Thursday, April 27. Find out more information about the Ranger Rodeo
