Box Score SENATOBIA - Northwest collected a doubles and singles victory in the women's match, but it wasn't enough to upend 22nd-ranked Itawamba on Friday afternoon. Additionally, the No. 22 Ranger men fell 8-1 to the 19th-ranked Indians by an 8-1 final.

Northwest dropped to 4-6 overall on the men's side, while falling to 4-3 in MACCC competition. The Lady Rangers fell to 2-8 on the season and 2-5 in conference play.

Holly Stewart and Grace Ann Wade collected the Lady Rangers' lone doubles win on court two, defeating Itawamba's Kaitlyn Greenwood and Cheyenne Hughes by an 8-3 final. Raney Peacock and Rivers Tarsi also battled hard on court three, but fell 9-7 to Tyler Athas and Jimena Palomo.

Wade also finished as the Lady Rangers' lone winner in singles, rallying from a 6-1 first set loss to earn the 1-6, 7-5 [10-6] victory against Hughes on court three. Additionally, Peacock battled to three sets at No. 4 against Greenwood, but fell 1-6, 6-2, [10-6].

In men's play, Samuel Turner provided the lone point for the Rangers, battling to a 6-3, 6-1 decision at No. 5 against ICC's Houston Walker. Kaleb Parish also posed a worthy challenge to Calvin Moorman on court three, but Moorman eventually picked up the 2-6, 6-2 [10-6] win.

Northwest had two close opportunities in doubles action, dropping matches on courts two and three by two points. The duo of Turner and Bratton Willoughby battled to a 9-7 loss against Moorman and Cade Teeple, while Parish and John David Nelson fell 8-6 to Walker and Sam Morgan.

Next up for Northwest is a pair of road matches, as the regular season hits its homestretch. The Rangers will first travel to Holmes on Tuesday, March 28, before facing Northeast on Friday, March 31.

Tuesday's matches at Holmes are scheduled for 2 P.M. in Goodman.
