Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ELLISVILLE - One of the more challenging MACCC matches on the schedule resulted in a pair of 9-0 losses for the Northwest men's and women's tennis squads.

Ranked No. 22 in the most recent ITA national polls earlier this month, the Ranger men faced a talented, 14th-ranked Jones College squad. The loss snapped a four-match conference winning streak for the Northwest men, dropping the team's overall record to 4-5 and 4-2 in MACCC play.

On the women's side of play, the Lady Rangers dropped to 2-7 on the season and 2-4 in conference play. The Lady Bobcats were ranked 11th in the nation prior to the match.

In men's doubles, the duo of John David Nelson and Kaleb Parish provided Northwest with its closest match, as the pair dropped an 8-5 decision. In singles' play, Chris Albert battled hard on No. 2, but fell 6-3, 6-3 to his Jones opponent.

Amelia Anding and Grace Ann Wade provided the Lady Rangers with their closest doubles match, dropping an 8-3 decision on court two. Northwest was shutout in singles however, except for a 6-1, 6-0 loss for Holly Stewart on court two.

Northwest will look to regroup on Friday, hosting nationally-ranked Itawamba at The ROC (Ranger Outdoor Complex). Matches are expected to begin at 2 P.M.
