MOLINE, Ill. - Another Northwest football alumnus is getting his chance to compete at the professional level.
Former Ranger offensive lineman Shyron Rodgers recently signed with the Quad City Steamwheelers of the Indoor Football League, joining a lengthy legacy of Northwest players that have suited up at various levels of pro football.
Rodgers spent three seasons at Southeast Missouri State from 2020-22 and went undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft. While playing for SEMO, the Corinth native played in 29 total games, earning 23 starts. He also earned Second Team All-Ohio Valley Conference accolades during the 2020 season.
Prior to his time at SEMO, Rodgers spent the 2018-19 seasons with Northwest, helping guide the Rangers to back-to-back playoff berths. He started 21 games on the offensive line, helping Northwest finish with a combined 16-5 record over two seasons, while also earning Second Team All-MACJC accolades in 2019.
With Rodgers' signing, Northwest now has eight players currently on rosters across the NFL, CFL, XFL, USFL and the IFL. For an all-time list of Rangers in the pros, click
