Holt's Calf Roping Finish Highlights UWA Showdown

Northwest to resume rodeo schedule at Three Rivers

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - Freshman David Holt brought home points for the Northwest men's rodeo team during last weekend's UWA Showdown at West Alabama, the second Ozark Region event for the 2022-23 season.

Holt, a native of Byhalia, collected a result of 11.3 in the first round of the calf roping event, later scoring 12.6 in the second round for an average of 23.9. The results earned him a total of 30 points, helping the Rangers to finish eighth in the weekend standings.

Holt was the only Northwest competitor to place throughout the weekend, as the Lady Rangers came away empty-handed.

With two events now in the books, Northwest will have a break this coming weekend before resuming Ozark Region action at Three Rivers (Mo.) on October 13-15. The event, held in Poplar Bluff, will mark the halfway point of the fall schedule for the Rangers.
