MOBILE, Ala. - South Alabama senior cornerback Devin Rockette has been labeled as a fourth team All-Sun Belt Conference selection by Athlon Sports, the publication announced earlier this week.
In 11 games last season, Rockette totaled 28 tackles and two interceptions for the Jaguars, including a season-high six tackles against Arkansas State. The Oxford native tallied a 95-yard interception return for a touchdown against ULM last October.
As a junior in 2019, Rockette compiled 15 tackles, six pass breakups and two fumble recoveries, including one in the Jaguars' season opener at Nebraska on August 31.
Prior to South Alabama, Rockette spent the 2018 season with Northwest and came up with 21 tackles and four breakups. His season-high of six tackles came in the regular season finale at Itawamba on October 25, 2018.
Rockette is one of three Rangers currently suiting up for South Alabama in the 2021 season, joining linebacker Quentin Wilfawn and offensive lineman Anterrious Gray, who recently transferred from North Texas. The trio also join 40 other former Northwest football standouts on FBS or FCS rosters for the upcoming season.
