Dustin Brown recorded nine saves and his first career shutout, as Northwest blanked East Central in a 3-0 victory on Friday afternoon.
Jake Heinze scored a pair of goals to lift the Rangers offensively, with the first score coming five minutes into the match and the other coming late in the first half.
Brendon Galbraith also scored his first goal of the season, as a foul in the box allowed the sophomore a chance at a penalty kick in the 10th minute of action.
Both teams finished with an even total of 16 shots, as the Warriors tallied 11 alone in the second half. The Rangers finished 13-9 in shots on-goal.
With the win, Northwest improved to 1-6-1 overall and 1-3-1 in the MACCC North Division. East Central dropped to 2-6-1 and 1-4-1 in division competition.
Northwest is scheduled to resume competition on Friday, May 7 at 3 P.M., as the Rangers welcome Hinds to the Five Star City. The Eagles shut out the Rangers in the two teams' previous meeting on April 20.
