Box Score MOORHEAD - I'Yana Ragin's 20 points led double-digit scoring efforts from five Northwest players, as the Lady Rangers edged Mississippi Delta 77-74 on Monday night.

Northwest improved to 2-1 on the season, while the Lady Trojans dropped to 0-5 overall.

Mississippi Delta led for most of the contest but the Lady Rangers never trailed by more than eight points for the entire contest. The Lady Trojans led 22-20 at the end of the first period and 45-43 at halftime.

Trailing 65-60 entering the final 10 minutes of regulation, Northwest outscored the Lady Trojans 17-9 in the fourth period to pull away for the much-needed road victory.

Northwest shot 45 percent from the floor, while Mississippi Delta finished with 38 percent shooting. Both teams finished nearly even in rebounds, with the Lady Trojans edging Northwest 45-44 in that category.

Ragin's 20 points serves as a career-high for the Baldwyn native and her 11 assists earned her a double-double for the first time this season. Kolten Blakeney also finished with her first career double-double, earning 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Curenity Emerson finished in double figures for the second consecutive game, earning 14 points and nine boards. Tierra Trotter and Sha'Kirria Everett rounded out the notable scoring for the Lady Rangers, as the freshman duo compiled 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Rodericka Parker led Mississippi Delta with 21 points and nine rebounds in the losing effort. Antanisha Wade also added 11 points for the Lady Trojans.

With the postponement of Tuesday's game against Northeast, the Lady Rangers will wait another week to resume play. Up next for Northwest is a road trip rematch at East Mississippi on Monday, February 15.
