Box Score GOODMAN - Behind double-digit scoring efforts from four players, Northwest worked its way to an 86-79 road win at Holmes on Thursday evening.
Northwest trailed 18-15 at the end of the first period, before the Lady Bulldogs pulled away for a 10-point cushion at halftime, leading 43-33.
Trailing 66-61 at the end of the third period, Northwest was able to outscore the Lady Bulldogs by a 25-18 margin over the final 10 minutes of the contest, pulling out the victory and a 2-0 start to the season.
Tierra Trotter led the Lady Rangers with 14 points, followed by 13 from
I'Yana Ragin.
Kolten Blakeney also totaled 11 points, while freshman
Maura Nunley rounded out the top scorers with 10 points.
Shanbriah Rule led Holmes with 25 points, while Lanie Potter put up 19 for the Lady Bulldogs. Santia Robinson also led the team with 10 rebounds.
Northwest will return home on Monday evening for a non-conference matchup against East Mississippi. The game is slated for a 5:30 P.M. tipoff, with live broadcast coverage available on Ranger TV (nwccrangers.com/watch) and Facebook Live.
