JACKSON – For the second consecutive season, the Northwest Lady Rangers have earned MACJC Academic Team of the Year honors for women's basketball, the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon.
Northwest finished the 2019-20 academic year with a 3.48 team GPA, the best in the conference among other women's basketball programs. The Lady Rangers also earned the same distinction in 2018-19 when the team totaled a 3.69 cumulative GPA.
In all, eight players received Academic All-MACJC recognition with
Claire Fleming,
Taylor Fletcher,
Morgan Hodum,
Madison Pharr,
Lindsay Hall and
Allie Williams earning Distinguished honors for posting a 3.8 GPA or higher. Additionally,
Mallory Russell and
Kayla Freeman also earned Academic All-MACJC accolades for earning GPAs of 3.25-3.79.
Northwest finished the 2019-20 season with a 17-10 overall record and a runner-up finish in the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament.
