SENATOBIA – Sophomore left-hander
Dalton Fowler struck out a new-career high of 14 batters and Northwest collected 12 runs off five hits in the nightcap, as the ninth-ranked Rangers swept Olive-Harvey College on Friday afternoon at Jim Miles Field.
Northwest improved to 8-1 on the season as Olive-Harvey dropped to 1-2 overall. The two teams will play again on Saturday afternoon at 1/4 p.m. at Jim Miles Field.

Game 1 – #9 Northwest 10, Olive-Harvey College 0 (6 inn.)
Three hits was all Olive-Harvey could provide against
Dalton Fowler, as the Arlington, Tenn. native and current Oklahoma signee shattered his previous career-best of 12 strikeouts with 14 in a 10-0 run-rule victory.
Freshman
Dylan Hale went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs and was one of seven players in the lineup to finish with a hit.
Peyton Mills,
Wesley Lester and
Cade Spratlin combined for three doubles and six RBIs.
Northwest plated four runs in the bottom of the first and added one each in the fourth and fifth innings, before breaking open the contest with four more in the sixth to solidfy the run-rule.
Game 2 – #9 Northwest 12, Olive-Harvey College 2 (6 inn.)
Although the Panthers dealt the first blow with two runs in the top of the first, Northwest responded with four in the bottom of the frame and three in the second to take a commanding 7-2 lead, which paved the way for another six-inning run-rule.
Northwest added two runs in the fifth and three in the sixth to earn the 10-run triumph, but collected just five hits in the nightcap.
Kelton Hall led the Rangers at the plate with two hits and a three-run homer in the first inning. Mills,
Brayland Skinner and
Tucker Richmond were responsible for the other three hits.
Reed Logsdon struck out seven batters in four innings, despite allowing an earned run.
Zach Willingham also posted two solid innings in relief, striking out five batters against two walks.
