HILLSBORO, Ore. – Following a phenomenal effort in last Saturday's 40-13 MACCC and National Community College Football Championship showdown at Mississippi Gulf Coast, Northwest has overtaken the top slot in the "Dirty 30" rankings from JCGridiron.com, the recruiting site announced Monday morning.

Northwest has risen in the rankings all season long, inching its way up from a No. 14 preseason ranking to the current top spot. The rankings include programs from all NJCAA conferences, the California Community College Athletic Association and the newly-formed Hohokam Junior College Athletic Conference in Arizona.

Making up the rest of the top five behind the Rangers include Garden City (Kan.) at No. 2, Riverside City (Calif.) at No. 3, last year's NJCAA national runner-up Lackawanna (Pa.) at No. 4 and Mississippi Gulf Coast at the No. 5 slot.

Other MACCC programs in the rankings include Hinds (10th), Northeast (15th) and Jones College at No. 19 overall.

Northwest concluded the season at 6-0, finishing undefeated for the first time since a 10-0 mark in 2000. The Rangers have finished the season undefeated only four times in program history.

With last Saturday's win, Northwest also captured its fourth national title and 10th conference title in program history.
