SENATOBIA – After closing out the first half of its 2020-21 season last month, the Northwest rodeo program is already gearing up for the spring portion of the Ozark Region schedule.
Northwest will compete a little closer to home for a majority of the spring slate, as the Rangers will open competition at East Mississippi on Thursday, February 18 through Saturday, February 20. The Rangers will then stay in the Magnolia State and compete at Pearl River from March 25-27.
From there, Northwest moves on to Arkansas Monticello on April 1-3 and UT Martin on April 15-17. The final Ozark Region event will pass through Senatobia, as Northwest is slated its annual rodeo event from Thursday, April 22 to Saturday, April 24 at the Northwest Multipurpose Arena.
Northwest ended the fall on a rough note, slipping to ninth in the men's regional standings and 12th on the women's side. The Rangers will seek to regain its momentum from last season, where three athletes -
Jacob Hodges (bull riding),
Cade Cowan (team roping) and
Caroline Crawford (barrel racing) - finished a shortened 2019-20 campaign in position to qualify for the College National Finals Rodeo.
