SENATOBIA – Northwest surrendered four of Jones College's five goals in the first half of the Rangers' 5-0 loss on Tuesday afternoon.
Northwest dropped to 1-8 overall as the visiting Bobcats improved to 5-4 on the year.
Jones wasted little time getting on the board in the first half as Itai Allen's shot deflected off the post directly in front of Cris Rodrigo, who chipped it in for an early 1-0 lead less than five minutes in.
A foul in the box would then set up the Bobcats' next score as Justis Casey converted the penalty kick in the 27th minute, his eighth goal of the season.
Chris Dempsey then added to the Jones lead, striking on a pair of goals in the 35th and 44th minutes with Rodrigo assisting both.
Trailing 4-0 as the second half began, Northwest surrendered one final Bobcat score in the 56th minute, as Allen netted his second goal of the year off an assist from Adam Lynch.
Logan Barham collected four saves in just his second start of the season and was replaced by
Dustin Brown in the second half, as Brown would go on to earn five saves over the final 45 minutes.
Northwest will resume MACJC North Division action on Tuesday, October 1 at 3 p.m. against Hinds.
