CHARLOTTE – Following a 3-0 start that included a division-opening victory against Mississippi Delta last Thursday night, Northwest has inched up a spot to No. 3 in the latest NJCAA national rankings, the organization revealed Monday afternoon.
Situated behind top-ranked Hutchinson (Kan.) and No. 2 Butler (Kan.), Northwest checks in as the highest ranked MACJC program just ahead of No. 4 Mississippi Gulf Coast (3-0) and No. 5 East Mississippi (2-1).
Thursday's opponent, Copiah-Lincoln (3-0), is ranked eighth overall, setting up a Top 10 matchup at Bobby Franklin Field. Jones College (2-1) and Hinds (2-1) round out MACJC representation at 13th and 19th, respectively. East Central is also recognized as receiving votes with a 2-1 overall record.
This marks the 57th consecutive poll featuring Northwest dating back to 2015, with 54 of those weeks spent ranked within the Top 10.
Kickoff for Thursday's showdown with Copiah-Lincoln is scheduled for 7 p.m. and can be seen in HD at nwccrangers.com/watch. Live stats will also be available for the contest as well.
