SENATOBIA – A 1-0 halftime deficit escalated quickly in the second half as Northwest saw Mississippi Gulf Coast add three more goals in a 4-0 loss on Sunday afternoon.
Northwest fell to 1-6 overall as the visiting Bulldogs improved to 5-3 on the season.
Christian Inchima connected with Griffin Bush in the 28th minute for the Bulldogs' first and only goal of the first half. Inchima would go on to score two goals in the second half, one in the 65th minute and another in the 78th minute off assists from Luke Mills and Francisco Garcia, respectively.
Cisco Thomas also added an unassisted goal 54 seconds into the start of the second half.
Northwest was outshot 22-10 in the loss and combined for 15 saves, four coming from sophomore keeper
Logan Barham, who played the final 20 minutes of the second half.
Northwest will be back in action at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 21 at Meridian for a neutral-site matchup with Oxford-Emory.
