Northwest Men's Rodeo Places Sixth at Murray State

MURRAY, Ky. – With the help of Cade Cowan's first place finish in team roping and Jake Brewer's seventh-place tie in the same event, the Northwest men's rodeo team capped off the fall portion of the season finishing sixth overall at Murray State University this past weekend.

Northwest garnered 162.50 total points to finish ahead of Southern Arkansas, UAM and event host Murray State.

Paired with Cannon Smith of Three Rivers College, Cowan finished with a total score of 14.0 as Brewer collected an 8.5 score with partner John Neal of UT Martin.

Though the updated Ozark Region standings have yet to be released, the Ranger men will finish the fall with 672.50 total points. Heading into the event at Murray State, the Rangers stood in seventh place overall, just ahead of UAM.

Northwest failed to place on the women's side of things but the Lady Rangers entered the weekend at ninth overall in the Ozark Region, narrowly ahead of Mississippi State and Pearl River with 160 total points.

Northwest will release the spring portion of the schedule in December.
