Ranger Soccer Drops Road Tilt at Jones County

ELLISVILLE – Freshman Joseph Hayes put the Rangers ahead late in the first half, but Jones County responded for three unanswered goals in a 3-1 victory on Monday night.

JCJC improved to 2-0 overall, while Northwest fell to 0-2 with the loss.

In the 40th minute of the match, sophomore Parker Trawick dished a well-played ball to Hayes, who then beat the keeper one-on-one for the Rangers' first goal of the 2018 season.

JCJC quickly responded before halftime, however, as Thomas Carlile found Adam Stone less than three minutes later to tie the contest 1-1 at the break.

Carlile then helped the Bobcats take the lead on a goal in the 57th minute and delivered a parting shot in the 81st minute to seal the match.

Northwest was outshot 28-9 on the evening and 14-5 on goal. Tim Houston collected 11 saves in his second career start between the posts.

The Rangers will try and enter the win column on Tuesday at Meridian. First kick is slated for 3 p.m.
