Benton Welcomes Three Additional Signees to Rodeo Program

SENATOBIA – Head rodeo coach Shelli Benton has announced three additional signees to the program this fall, adding Jessi Rhodes, Jake Brewer and Hope Collins.

Rhodes, a Houston native, will compete in barrel racing, goat tying and breakaway for the Rangers, where she has consistently placed in the top five in various circuits.

Brewer, from DeSoto Central High School, will compete in team roping and tie down. He was a member of the Tennessee High School Rodeo Association for three years and has been a member of the National Little Britches Rodeo Association for two.

As a junior, Brewer was a THRSA champion heeler and finished in the top 20 at the national finals with his partner Allen Morse, also a member of Northwest's rodeo team. He won the USTRC in Guthrie, Okla., as a sophomore.

Brewer is currently ranked in the top five in heeling behind his brother, Josh, and has qualified for nationals each season with the Mid-South Little Britches Rodeo Association.

Collins, who's from Germantown, started her riding career in the Hunter/Jumper Arena, but quickly switched to rodeo life where she has been acutely aware of the discipline that is needed in the equestrian world.

After winning several 3D/4D competitions from C&W Quarter Horses barn, she took her horse to the BBR World Finals and earned a spot as a finalist and top 20 money earner.
