ECRU – Head rodeo coach Shelli Benton has announced the addition of North Pontotoc senior Maegan Curtis, who officially accepted a scholarship on Wednesday to ride at Northwest next season.

"I'm very excited to be a part of the Northwest rodeo team and am ready for next fall," Curtis said.

Curtis acquired a love for competing and riding horses at the 4-H Winter Classics when she was about 10 years old, and since then, has accomplished many things throughout her local 4-H Club.

Just to name a few accomplishments, Curtis has made it to state competition numerous times and to regionals twice. She's also won three trips to Colorado where she competed in Horse Bowl, Horse Judging and Team Demo, and contributes all of her success to a very dedicated county agent, Sherry Thompson.

Curtis has been a member of National Little Britches Rodeo Association for two years, qualifying for nationals in Guthrie, Okla., in 2017, where she competed in barrels and ribbon roping with her partner Petey Tomlinson.
