CAMDEN, Ark. – Sophomore
Kayla Bradley led Northwest with 14 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome an upstart SAU Tech squad on Tuesday evening, as the Lady Rangers fell 88-68.
SAU Tech (3-0) led for most of the contest, including an early 18-10 lead midway through the first period, though the Lady Rangers would embark on a 9-2 run to close the gap to 20-19.
After ending the first period up 25-20, the Lady Rockets broke things wide open in the second period, outscoring Northwest 35-13 to take a 60-33 halftime lead.
Things didn't get much easier for the Lady Rangers in the second half, as SAU Tech continued where it left off in the first half, extending the Northwest deficit to 80-46 entering the fourth period.
Northwest would make up some ground in the final eight minutes, outscoring the Lady Rockets 22-8 to cut the final margin to 20.
Aside from Bradley's team-high, freshman
Tamarah Sykes also finished with 10 points, eight from the first half.
Northwest (0-1) will host Blue Mountain JV on Thursday, Nov. 8. Tipoff from Howard Coliseum is slated for 5 p.m.
