SENATOBIA – The north division leading Itawamba Indians took an early two-goal lead and never looked back in a 3-2 win over Northwest Tuesday afternoon.
Itawamba improved to 11-3 overall and 7-0 in division play while Northwest fell to 2-9 and 1-5 in the north.
Brendan Koehn netted his 11th goal of the year just 4:55 into the match to give the visitors the early lead. Clayton O'Daniel added a goal in the 18th minute to extend the lead to 2-0.
Joseph Hayes gave the Rangers some life before halftime, netting his team-leading 7th goal to cut the lead to 2-1 at the break.
O'Daniel added his second of the match in the 65th minute to make it 3-1.
The match turned pretty chippy after that, with six yellow cards issued over the game's final 18 minutes, four for Northwest.
Fleurit Madjitoloum scored a late goal off an
Isvi Torres assist to pull the final within 3-2.
ICC outshot Northwest 24-16 for the match, with
Tim Houston collecting 11 saves.
Northwest will close out its home schedule on Friday, Oct. 12, playing host to Hinds at 3 p.m.
