HILLSBORO, Ore. – Rising sophomore Damien Lewis of Northwest has been named to the JCGridiron.com Preseason JUCO Offensive Guard Watch List for the Class of 2018.

At 6-foot-3, 325 pounds, Lewis is looking to have another solid season after starting in all 12 games at right guard as a freshman and grading out at over 90 percent efficiency all season. His supporting cast in the trenches helped pave the way for a pair of 1,000-yard rushers in Tywun Walters and Quarderman Sloan, a first in program history.

A product of Canton High School, Lewis was named an NJCAA Second Team All-American, All-Region 23 and First Team All-MACJC as a true freshman. He was also chosen as the MACJC's offensive line MVP for the north division.

Lewis has been equally impressive off the field, earning both NJCAA Third Team and MACJC All-Academic Team honors while boasting a 3.88 GPA in criminal justice.

Lewis is currently drawing interest from over a dozen Division I programs, including offers from Kentucky, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Utah, West Virginia and Memphis. More offers are expected to roll in for Lewis before he makes his ultimate decision this December.
