SENATOBIA – A pair of second half goals wasn't enough to upend East Central on Wednesday, as the Rangers fell to the Warriors 3-2.
Northwest dropped to 2-6-1 overall and 1-5 in the division with the loss, while ECCC improved to 9-5-1 and 5-2-1 in the MACJC North.
Both teams were relatively quiet in the first 30 minutes of the match, until Joseph Stewart's one-on-one goal in the 34th minute put the Warriors ahead 1-0.
Less than 10 minutes later, Andrew Bernard's shot attempt bounced back to Hector Mendoza, who took it in for his first goal of the season to put East Central up 2-0 at the break.
Northwest cut the lead in half after
Fleurit Madjitoloum connected with
Parker Trawick in the early stages of the second half, but Francisco Romero's goal less than two minutes later pushed the advantage back to two goals at 3-1.
Despite a stronger second half offensively for the Rangers, it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit, though

After being outshot 15-3 in the first half, Northwest closed the gap to a final tally of 24-16 in favor of East Central.
