Rangers Suffer 6-0 Defeat at Southwest

Box Score SUMMIT – Two Southwest goals in the game's opening six minutes set the tone for the host Bears as they ran away with a 6-0 win over Northwest Saturday afternoon to stay unbeaten.

Northwest, who defeated Copiah-Lincoln handily, 8-0 the day before, dropped to 1-1 with the loss. 

The Rangers had several scoring opportunities but Kade Jenkins stopped all seven Northwest shots on goal.

SMCC scored four second half goals, led by a hat-trick from Jaime Delor who scored in the 61st, 68th and 86th minutes. He added an assist to finish with seven points on the day.

Northwest was out-shot 21-12, including 13-7 on net. Lance Crabtree had a team-high three shots, two on net.

Brandon Carrillo had seven saves in a losing effort.

Northwest will try and rebound on Tuesday, traveling to Jones County for a 2 p.m. kick.
