Three Rangers Receive All-Cotton States League Honors

NEW ALBANY – Three Northwest baseball players are among those receiving All-Cotton States Baseball League honors, the league announced on Monday.

Bishop, a member of the Tippah Tribe, was recognized for his abilities as a dual player. He played and started in 17 games, hitting .305 with five doubles, a home run and 11 RBIs, while posting a .967 fielding percentage.

Wilson, his Tribe teammate, led the team in hitting with a .385 average and four doubles, a home run and seven RBIs. The future Mississippi College Choctaw also saw some action on the mound, posting a 1-0 record and a 1.12 ERA in three appearances.

Lacefield, also bound for Mississippi College, was honored for his performance on the mound with the North Delta Dealers. In eight appearances, Lacefield posted a 4-1 record and a 0.76 ERA while giving up just three earned runs and striking out 47 batters. He also got the start for the Dealers in the CSBL Championship on July 31, pitching 5.2 innings and giving up just one earned run while fanning six batters.
