Lady Rangers Drop 3-0 Decision to Hinds

SENATOBIA – A pair of second half goals allowed Hinds to pull away from Northwest on Tuesday afternoon, as the Lady Rangers fell 3-0 to their division rivals.

Northwest dropped to 2-6-1 overall and 0-4-1 in the north division, while Hinds notched its second win of the year and moved to 2-7 on the season (2-3 division).

Both teams were held to just six shots each in the first half, with Lauren Smith's goal in the 22nd minute being the lone difference for Hinds to allow the Lady Eagles to take a 1-0 lead into the halftime break.

Hinds went on the attack in the second half but was unable to truly capitalize until the 76th minute, when Ashlee Maddox netted her second goal of the season to extend the Lady Eagles' advantage to 2-0. Kaylan Johnson followed with her first score of the season in the 87th minute to close things out for Hinds.

Northwest was outshot 21-15 in the contest while Hinds held a 15-6 on-goal advantage. Lauren Snyder and Sierra Lasher led the Lady Rangers with two shots on goal apiece.

Ivy Cook finished with 12 stops, her fourth career game with 10-plus saves. Holley Moore led Hinds in the net with six saves total.

Northwest will look to bounce back in division play on Friday, hitting the road to face East Central (10-1 overall, 4-0 division). First kick is set for 1 p.m. in Decatur.
