Ranger Rodeo Featured Top Ozark Region Competitors

SENATOBIA – Hosting its annual Ranger Rodeo at the Northwest Multipurpose Arena April 23-25, great crowds were in attendance all weekend to watch some of the top competition in the Ozark Region over the three days.

"I want to thank everyone for supporting us this past weekend at the Northwest Intercollegiate Rodeo," first-year head coach Shelli Benton said. "I'm so proud of our team not only for their performance, but the hard work they put into making this a successful event. Also a huge thank you to the rodeo alumni, boosters, sponsors and alumni affairs for their volunteer service. Without all the team effort, none of this would be possible."

Southern Arkansas' men's team won the event with 690 points and Three Rivers' women won with 310 points.

Northwest didn't have a competitor place but had two finish in the top 10 in the region for the rodeo season.

Sophomore Kindyl Scruggs finished in sixth place (350 points) in the region in barrel racing and freshman Tray Watkins finished ninth (110 points) in bull riding. Both teams finished 10th overall in the region.
