BOONEVILLE – Northwest sophomore third baseman Stuart Chick has been tabbed the MACJC Player of the Week for games played Monday, April 6 through Sunday, April 12 after helping the Rangers to doubleheader sweeps at Lawson State and Mississippi Gulf Coast.

The weekly accolade is the first of his career and second for a Ranger hitter this season (Clay Casey). Freshman Colt Smith is a three-time MACJC Pitcher of the Week selection.

A product of Hernando High School, Chick was 5-for-6 with a double, home run, five RBIs, four runs scored, three sacrifice hits and two stolen bases in a 4-0 week for Northwest. He was 4-for-4 with five RBIs and hit his first collegiate home run in a 10-2 game one win at Gulf Coast.

In 23 starts this season, Chick is hitting .355 with three doubles, a home run, seven RBIs and 16 runs scored.

Northwest (23-8), who's currently riding a season-long 10-game win streak, is scheduled to return to the diamond on Tuesday, April 14 at 2 p.m. against Northeast.
